Why are we looking to space?

Why are we trying to explore space? Over 70% of the earth’s surface has yet to be explored. The deepest drill known to public has drilled 7 miles to the core. There are still 3,900 miles for that same drill to reach earth’s core.
This seems like a chess question. Why aren’t we trying to go side-to-side or down?

It's in human nature to push boundaries and explore. We've been doing it our whole existence.

So why haven’t we explored the 70% of earth’s surface or drilled further than 13km into earth’s crust? Have those boundaries been set?

I have no problem with us exploring space, but we should definitely be exploring our oceans as well. Per the 1989 documentary The Abyss, that’s where they are anyway.

We ain’t gotta look up to find God, baw. When we love a person, we hold them higher than ourselves, kind of like a priority list. In that love, we feel God. God is love.
