Why are Cats Scared of Cucumbers? (New Viral Meme)

my guess is that a cucumber resembles a snake to cats and their evolutionary-bred reaction is to go hyper defense

i believe they think the cucumber is a large turd deposited by something large enough that they don't want to meet it, so they run.

I tried it with both of my cats. It didn't scare them AT ALL. They just calmly went and inspected it, and then dismissed it. I don't even like cucumbers, and I bought one specifically to scare the frick out of my cats. What the hell.
