There's obviously more to someone than appearance. The issue is that when you have two quality men (from a personality/non-physical qualities standpoint), a woman with deep insecurity issues may choose the one who is out of shape because it makes her feel better about herself.

Men shouldn't take that as a sign that the women are attracted to their appearance. It's not that women like the way the men look, it's that they don't like the way they look, so it makes them feel better to not have to feel the pressure of having an attractive husband. That doesn't make for a healthy relationship.

Work on yourself and be the best person you can be physically and psychologically and you won't have to end up with someone who has crippling insecurity issues.
