my parents went on a cruise a long time ago to the Bahamas and a man approached my dad and asked him to take a picture with him and for his autograph. He apparently thought my dad was Chevy Chase. So like the celebrity he is, he signed something and took the picture and never told him any different.........so my dad is Chevy Chase

George Washington (related to his mom). Andrew Johnson (very distant cousin).
I'm sure there's others, but they'd mostly be old historical figures. My family has been in America since at least 1650. You're talking maybe a million white people total in all of America back then. (In 1790, the first census, there were less than 3 million whites counted. If you go back to the 1600's, you're probably at a million or less). So, if you have family that goes back that far, there's a good chance lots of us are related somehow.
I'm not related, as far as I know, to any current celebrities.

Supposedly I'm a distant relative of the Gipper, but I haven't worked out my family tree to establish the connection. I need to run for President so someone does it for me.

Nobody famous, but if you're in the medical field, it's about a 99% certainty you use diagnostic products produced by a company founded by a cousin of mine and her husband.

Nice. I’ve only talked to him a handful of times. He’s my third or fourth cousin.
