Yeah but this isn't about who is the best at exercising and staying awake.

Great. That has nothing to do with the topic.

Seal because of training to fight to the death. Pro fighters are conditioned to fight to a set of rules
Do you know how much hand to hand training a Navy Seal does? About 50 hours. And much of it is based off of modern MMA techniques.

50 hours is the equivalent of about 9 days of an MMA fighter's training in camp. And the equivalent of about 2 weeks of an MMA fighter's everyday training when not training for a fight.

These MMA fighters have thousands and thousands of hours of training for years and years and years.

A Navy Seal would be so out of his league it wouldn't even be a fight.

It depends on if the SEAL is Jesse The Body Ventura.

Navy Seal. They fight for their life. Pro fighter fights to win.

I trained in mma for a while years ago and I "rolled" with a marine at a frieends house who claimed he could eat my lunch.

I was no where near pro level but I took him down at ease and really could have PIIHB if I wanted to.

Now I know you asked about a seal and MMA fighter but I was able to own a marine....

A standard marine and a seal are not even in the same league

Did you not read my last statement?

Now also read how I was no where near pro and owned a trained marine...... so look at the progression of both...

a legit pro fighter would go through a navy seal like a hot knife through butter. most military guys can't fight any better than the average crossfit fanatic. gotta have some ability to go with all that training as far as competition goes.

So how does that work, kind of like pro wrestling? The mma guy chokes him out but just thinks the fights over and dances around then the seal wakes up and kills him?

I'd take someone like Chuck Liddell in his prime vs 2 seals at the same time.

The OP said a street fight. I'm assuming the SEAL isn't going to be tactically inserted with full kit.

Well yawn... but I wasn't the one claiming I could own the marine. He said mma was shite and wouldn't 'hold up in combat.

Just gave a result of what happened.

When it comes to fist fighting there isn't much difference.

Seriously, do you think SEALs spend a large chunk of time practicing fist fighting? That's a tiny part of their training. 99.9% of their training is in things more useful on the battlefield.

SEALs are badasses and are very mentally tough, and could beat average joes in a fist fight due to superior stamina, strength, mental toughness, and even because they have some very basic training in combatives.

But against a professional MMA fighter they wouldn't stand a chance. That's the reality of it.

The SEAL marketing team might be just as elite as the SEALs.

Right.... an mma guy would do a double leg and put the seal to sleep in a straight up hand to hand fight.

Seals are tough SOBs but do they really train to fight like a pro fighter? If the Seal has to fight under a certain rules it might be difficult for them to restrain from doing something they might have instincts to do. But I am going to go with the guy who specifically trains to be a pro fighter.

Depends. Do the participants have to parachute into the ocean from hi altitude, at night, then swim to land and then compass navigate for 5 miles to the location of street fight?

In that case I've got the seal because the pro fighter will never show up.
