My old ENT got tired of the malpractice part so he became an attorney too. He is also one of my personal heroes and all around great man.

CSM Basil Plumley. If you've seen or read We Were Soldiers he was the sergeant major in that battle.

quote:

Plumley participated in two glider assaults in the European Theater. His first was on June 6, 1944, during the Invasion of Normandy, and his second was for Operation Market Garden on Sept. 18, 1944. Plumley was shot in the hand the same day for which he received the Purple Heart and was awarded multiple decorations for his service in World War II.

He then fought in Korea during the final months of the Korean War, where he served at The Battle of Old Baldy, as well as the Battle of Pork Chop Hill. For serving in Korea, Plumley received his 2nd Combat Infantryman Badge in 1953.

He fought in Vietnam with the 1st Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment. He participated in the Battle of Ia Drang in Vietnam in 1965, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Hal Moore, who praised Plumley as an outstanding NCO and leader in the 1992 book about this battle, We Were Soldiers Once… and Young.

Gary Chambers. No discernible talents and is a fat slob but still manages to eek by a living

Totally impressed by that sort of like a roach that survives a nuclear holocaust

I met someone the other day. They graduated from the Virginia College in Baton Rouge. They seemed pretty cool.

Guy I know spends 5 months a year as a diesel mechanic and the other 7 months sailing. Been doing it for years with his wife and 2 kids. Most grounded, yet confident and adventurous person I've ever met

My mom. My father wasn’t home the majority of the time and she alone raised 4 kids including my sister who’s handicap. 56 years later despite being almost 80 y/o, she’s still taking care of my sister.

She is the most gracious, kind hearted person I’ve ever known. She’s my hero and I try everyday to be the person she is but mostly fail.

And yes, I have daddy issues
