I can't speak for knee doctors, but Dr. Rick Ahmad (BR Orthopedic Clinic) has operated on me three times (finger, hands and elbow) and was great to deal with.

Same goes for Larry "Chip" Bankston. He specializes in the shoulder at BR Orthopedic Clinic.

All-in-all, anyone that you deal with at BR Orthopedic Clinic will be very good.

BR Ortho

Craig Green is a great doc. I'd recommend him over Bankston.

I'll never let my wife go see him alone.

She would immediately strip down as if she was there for an OB/GYN appointment saying this might be required by him to just look at her knee.

Brent Bankston is LSU's team ortho so that should tell you something.

Can't speak on ortho docs, but for PTs, definitely Baton Rouge Physical Therapy-Lake. Super nice and like 7 locations all around BR/Ascension/Livingston. Been around a long time and know what they're doing.

It is the Tyler Lafauci group and he is amazing. If you go to that one by the Lake, see him or Seth Kaplan. They are all great, TBH. They have other locations in BR, you really cant go wrong with any of the clinics. Have had several of their PTs treat various friends and family members. Tyler seems to have treated half of BR, I think he is down to part-time now, getting sort of close to retirement. Amazing person!

for physical therapy I like fabian roussel, chris purvis, or scott at peak performance.

brpt lake is really good too.

and I wouldnt necessarilly pick peak over brpt or brpt over lake. that depends on many other things such as client factors and whom the dr refers you too.

You can not go wrong with the BR Ortho clinic.

Bankston, Winder, Ahmad.

two knee scopes and elbow surgeries. Went for calf issues when I was a runner. They sent me to BRPT-Lake.
If you don't go to BR Ortho Clinic,
Dr Frierson at Bone and Joint is VERY good. He did two fib/leg surgeries and ankle bone spurs back in 98 and 03. He's still around and a highly reputable surgeon/clinic.

And yes, rugby will ruin your body. But was so much fun.

Not just him anymore for over a decade. It's The clinic. Dr Winder is often visible on the sidelines of Football games. They rotate out 'duty' to the Varsity sports teams.

When you go in for an MRI, there's an LSU Fathead sticker on the wall with many autographs you should recognize and will put you at ease in their care. .
