The largest turnaround in Gulf South Region history is currently being worked at Shell/Motiva in Norco. Surely some OT'ers are working it...

I sold about 3,2 million worth of equipment for this turnaround.
But no, I don't turn wrenches

What's the $$ value? We have 3 mega cluster TARs next year.

What is a turnaround exactly?
Posted on 10/4/15 at 9:19 am to TheIndulger
Turnaround is when the company will shut down a production or processing unit to allow for scheduled, large scale preventative maintenance to take place. Other tasks are added to the turnaround schedule and budget which can only be implemented when the unit is not operating.

I'm not on site but my shop is almost 100% dedicated to it.

Who are the main mechanicals in this TA?
Posted on 10/4/15 at 10:09 am to TheIndulger
The TA is when welders and pipe fitters make a shitload of money in a short amount of time. LOL

I'd assume Turner, they have an alliance with Shell/Motiva

Yeah then if the welders and pipe fitters and don't have another job they go home and live on welfare

Turner handles their daily maintenance. Last T/A I saw there, shell brought in JV and Wyatt

By what metrics hi s this the largest t/a in tbe Gulf south region?
Posted on 10/4/15 at 11:47 am to Me Bite
I'm not working it but am very familiar with OL-5 and GO-5

I would like to know that as well. I wasn't hearing that this one was all that big.
I kind of thought even the Phillips 66 Alliance refinery earlier this year would have been bigger.
That was a damn shite show. LOL

Willing to bet, the OP is incorrect on his statement about his little chemical plant T/A.
Posted on 10/4/15 at 9:50 pm to dukesilver72
Motiva Convent is a big gasoline plant and it's a big t/a but I don't see how it's on the same scale as the biggest t/a ever in the gulf south region. Maybe technically in some way?
Anyway it IS big and I'm really grateful for it.
That and Sasol is going to keep everyone busy.
