Staying there tomorrow night. Heard good things about the Power and Light district. As in my other threads, I like staying somewhere that I can walk to restaraunts/bars. I had heard about another good area, but can't think of the name. I like Starwood properties but can stay anywhere I want. Also, since I will be alone, a place to go get some drinks/food and watching football at a bar would be great.

Any advice?

Stay downtown, you can walk to P&L. It has restaurants and bars.

Your other option is the Plaza, where you can also walk to whatever you need. If you're older, do the Plaza, its more low key.

I do like ribs. I know KC BBQ is a big deal, but can also deal with any good spots that are suggested.

Hilton President is solid. In the P&L district and definitely the area you want to stay. I've had good times in that area and it's a lot of fun. I can't remember the names of all the places I went to but there are a good bit. Just do some research on it. I'm not sure if they have live music in that quad area or not on Thursdays.

I work in Kansas City. There is nothing to do outside of the power and light district. The airport is worse than the city itself.

Hangout in KC then you'll soon be at the airport to get the hell out of there.

Just got back from there a week or so ago. We stayed at Sheraton Suites in the Plaza area. Nice location and tons of restaurants to go to.

Downtown is also good for Power and Light district, although we didn't get to go.

Go check out Boulevard Brewing and also Cinder Block Brewery if you can. Cinder Block is putting out some awesome beers.

I really enjoyed the city, and we will probably be moving there within a year for wife's work.

If you stay in the Plaza area go eat breakfast at Classic Cup Cafe and we also went and had pizza at Coal Vines one night in the Plaza...very good.

Here is a pic I took of the Hilton President, we will probably stay there next time.

Go check out Union Station and make sure to visit the WWI museum, it is awesome!

I totally forgot about Boulevard brewing being there. Gonna have to take a lookk at that. Meeting is over at 3, so will have the rest of the day/night to myself.

If you are a beer lover, go to Cinder Block! Awesome brews and they have a bar area setup that stays open late I believe.

Love beer. Just checked Boulevard and their last tours are at 3ish so that is screwed anyway. Will take a look at Cinderblock. I normally enjoy the smaller breweries more anyway.
