Anywhere between Lake Charles and Baton Rouge and environs, where is the best place that has a regularly scheduled game of dollar-ante bourre without a lot of crazy "house" rules?

there's an old bar on Moss st. in LFT on the north side that probably has one going on right now, it's in the back room

ETA: white frame bldg., west side of street between Acorn and Butcher Switch

We play every Friday at 5.
7 players.
$5 every time you deal.
$1 for the widow, which if you take you must play the hand.
$5 whenever you are boureed.
Minimum 3 players in a hand.
No crazy rules.

Sounds like a fun game.

For clarification:

1) Since the dealer pays the ante, I assume the last card dealt (dealer's card) is turned over to determine trumps.

2) "For the widow" is the "extra" dollar ante you must put in the pot to play the hand?

3) Five dollars is the maximum penalty for boureeing? No matching the pot?

4) Here is a "crazy house rule" I don't care for: I like to play where say, hearts are trumps. Clubs are led and I am second to act. I have no clubs but I have A-6 hearts. Can I play the trump six? Some games insist that you must play the highest trump. I assume your game does not have that rule.

5) Minimum three in the hand: so obviously, if the first four guys to act pass, then the last three MUST play the hand?

If you allow outsiders to play, I'd be interested. Let me know and I'll set up a temporary email addy where you can email me more info.

I was hoping to find a game in a bar more than a home game, but hey, I just want to play. I assume it's okay for a bar to hold a regular game, as long as the house is not taking a rake.
