When will it be announced that the BRPD officers are not going to jail?

This deserves its own thread because the timing of this will dictate when the largest riots will occur in Baton Rouge. No matter your feelings on the matter, if you're a SJW, a cop supporter, or simply don't care, this will affect you if you live in Baton Rouge.

A lot of us work in areas of Baton Rouge that may be hit if such riots do happen. Some of us even live there. My mother lives downtown and my father practices downtown. My work is downtown but I can work remotely.

It seems obvious that the shooting in Baton Rouge was a chaotic situation, that involved a resistant suspect with a gun, and a bad criminal history and therefore there is absolutely no reason to believe that the officers will be going to jail over this.

So anyway, at what point will that announcement be made? I guess there's a DA or grand jury's decision to not bring it to trial and that will be the day I need to take the family on a vacation? How long will that take?

Who knows.

The chances of these guy being exonerated is pretty high. And when it happens, it's gonna be rowdy. I kinda want to watch it go off too.

Hillary and Trump are irrelevant to this thread unless they really decide to stoke the flames on that day.

My concern is that things are going to get really out of hand when these crazy people, these shite stirrers realize that the cops aren't going to jail for shooting a TPOS during an altercation.

I'd imagine it'll be drawn out but it's a lock imo no charges will come. Sterling's record. The video. The struggle. Resistance. The gun. Sterlings word vs 2 cops, and sterling is dead.

I have a feeling these guys aren't getting off. Hope I'm wrong. But there's a lot of pressure to make an example out of someone. And, the Justice Department is involved.

I don't see who they go to jail over this. With the DOJ investigating does that mean that they are responsible for deciding whether or not to indict?

If so, how long does it usually take the DOJ to make a decision on these matters?

They are also trying to get them
for civil charges. I would guess if they get them for anything at all they will announce that first. Would give them some "victory". Otherwise, it is what it is.

Based on recent history, we are probably seeing the worst of what will occur.. The organizers and the more dedicated out of towners will move onto something else by that time..

That's a really scary thought. The foundation of our justice system is gone if we start letting public pressure dictate whether charges should be brought

Pressure from where exactly? 99% of what you feel is pressure is social media driven. It has no bearing on real life except to get people who don't want to know the facts riled up.

I hope that's true. I'm not planning on moving out of state for another year.

It would be hard for the justice department to do anything. You have to show specific intent for civil rights violations, and I don't think anyone can argue they went their specifically to kill the guy considering they were responding to a call. If they are charged it would probably be 2d degree murder or manslaughter, but that would come from the state.

Grand Jury would take a month or more to assemble, set schedules, hear testimony, reach decision, etc.. It would be smart for everyone called to appear to stall and stretch it out as long as possible to let the flames die down.

I doubt a DA is gonna want to touch it with a 10 foot pole. Baltimore is a shite stain on the offices of ALL DA's nationwide and not many politically ambitious DA's want to end their careers like that.

Well thankfully "they on Twitter" have no say so in the decision that will be made. I suggest you formulate your own opinion too

This is what has me worried. There's a huge disconnect from reality when dealing with political ideologues. I also don't think the Asian cop in MN is going to jail so hopefully they will continue to take heat off of Baton Rouge. It seems the BLM has a harder time being outraged about Asian cops though even though that shooting was seemingly 100000x worse.

I'm sure some cops somewhere else will frick up and help us out.
