When someone says put down the toilet seat, what do you think?

When I was growing up I always was always taught to put down the toilet seat and the toilet lid after I used the restroom. Some people look at it like putting down the toilet seat but not the lids is perfectly fine. I for one think leaving the lid up looks bad. What is the O-T's take?

Women always bitch about it, but hey, there's no piss on the seat, right?

Raising the toilet seat up means fighting gravity, so more energy is expended.

All women have to do is push the seat with one finger and gravity does the rest of the work.

Leaving the seat up unless needed is the most logical conclusion.

That or we piss outside.

As men, the world is our urinal.

if you leave the seat up on the pisser,
Then you're sure to avoid wedded bliss, sir,
But if your wife complains,
About all the piss stains,
You can pop her right square in the kisser.

I've held this position for my entire life. I'm not even sure why it's proper to put the seat down.

I put down the seat and the lid most of the time. Not because it looks good though.

If I have to lift the seat, she's gotta lift the lid.

I have never understood this. Couldn't the guy get mad at the woman for leaving it DOWN?

Why is it always the man's responsibility?

I'm in the habit of putting the seat and the lid down. It's pretty easy. I also put the seat up before I wipe so I don't get it dirty.

I have a male roommate and he's been seat down, lid down every time since I've known him (as am I). Doesn't matter so much in our individual bathrooms, but he has his friends trained whenever the one in the hall is used. bonus points.

Personal responsibility. Before YOU sit, why don't YOU take a second to look at what YOU are sitting on.

This and nothing can fall into a "closed" turlet.

do you leave your drawers, cabinets, closets, and pantry open too?

why close them when it takes more energy and slows you down from getting when you need?

I don't like running into them when I walk past in a hurry.

She ought to be thankful that I lifted the seat in the first place.
