Today: get school supplies list (which is ridiculous these days)

Tomorrow: go school supply shopping

Wednesday: start using those supplies

quote:

Half day today, off tomorrow, then start full time Wednesday.

Maybe someone could enlighten me on the reasoning behind this?

In Chandler, AZ they have "year round" school. So they only get like 6 weeks off for summer, they started school like 2 weeks ago. But...they get longer breaks throughout the school year.

Houma/thib? Never I feel like. I could be driving around on a week day in the middle of November at 9 am and see children out and about like they don't even go to school.

It's teachers, baw.

There is no reason behind what they do except getting home in time to watch Dance Moms and Big Brother.

I think they went back Wednesday. That would have been Aug. 2nd.

Someone correct me if wrong but pretty sure Louisiana requires 180 days (plus 2 staff dev't). Each Parish can start/end when they want. Also have so many "festival" days that vary. Example: Cameron may take off for Fur Festival while Bunkie has off for Corn Festival.

I know Bossier starts before Caddo and ends after Caddo. Someone said it had to do with Caddo doing longer days. It may be based on hours and not necessarily days.

1/2 day wednesday, and a full day on Friday.

I really don't get why they do a full day on Friday. Why not just start on Monday?
