When did Duck Head chinos become expensive?

$135 for a pair ($49 at Stein Mart)...looks like they are going for the Vineyard Vine and Southern Tide crowd. Love their pants...$135, pushing it...$49 is palatable. Glad to see Duck Head back in business.

$135 is way too much for "normal" khakis.

I thought Duck Head was the in-store brand for like JC Penny or something.

Chicken loved duck head. that was his brand of choice in college. He was always found on campus wearing olive duck head shorts, tommy hilfiger polo, ll bean boots, and gold rimmed rayban aviators.

Duckhead used to be work pants, kind of like Dickeys. Fratstars in the eighties discovered them and I guess this is just the logical progression.

Late 80s/early 90s Frat as frick right there.

Looks like they went bankrupt when they where owned by Goodies and sold in their store. Looks like some investors brought back several years ago and now only found in the fine gentlemen clothier stores (i.e., Graves Cox, Logan's or Harold Miller in Lexington).

Back then they were like $30 a pair, though.
I guess inflation's a bitch.

I have a couple pair of gently worn old school duckhead khakis from back in the day. Wonder what they'd be worth on Ebay?

Palatable...thanks!
I rocked Duck Head when I was at UK and LSU with the Polo Oxford and boat shoes. I bought the pair from Stein Mart. Fit better the any Polo or J Crew chinos I currently own.

C'mon Y.A., that was you too circa 1990.
I can't deny I didn't have a pair. Or two.

I have a duck head shirt hanging in my closet that I took senior pics in 22 years ago. Still looks good and I still wear it. Bought it at Bells in Houma next to the Winn Dixie

I'm not sure why you sensed I was putting such an ensemble down. I certainly wasn't.

You talking about these bad boys?
No way those are $135.00! Those use to be my uniform pants back in the day...I don't think they were more than $20.00 a pair.

add in the shotgun belt.
I will admit I never owned Hilfiger or a shotgun belt. I did wear Ralph Lauren Polo and a braided leather belt.
