I recently saw a bunch of traffic promoting a "Female Founder/CEO." "Founder/CEO", "founded this", "founded that", "entrepreneur", "CEO", etc.; articles where she talked about being a "female founder" and what it's like "running a company"..."honored as one of the 25 Under 25 Young Founder/CEO's"...articles about how she's "revolutionizing safety for millions of women"...

I looked a little deeper. She's the "CEO." Her co-founders are COO, CMO, and CXO. They are only 4 people in the company and only 1 of them does not have a full-time other/real job.

Guess what they do? They sell keychain pepper spray online. That's it. Just pepper spray...that goes on a keychain. Not new or different pepper spray that goes on a keychain...the same pepper spray that goes on a keychain that you have been able to buy just about anywhere for 30 years.

That's all they have to do to be showered with accolades and attention, so why wouldn't they pretend to be something and bask in the glory?

Are you sure she's the CEO, and not the "She-E-O"? I have been seeing a lot of those popping up as the parents of my kid's friends start hitting me up on social media.

Most of the women I see boast this are SAHMs that use MLMs as a "side hustle".

“I’m a strong, independent woman”

About sick of hearing this. If you gotta reiterate this every chance you get, you aren’t it.

It's these new digital marketing 304s that I keep seeing. All I keep hearing is how they make 5 figures a week from just being on the internet for a few hours.

My wife is an associate of one of these boss babes. She keeps whispering in the wife's ear that all the secrets can be hers for a low friendly price. Then the wife can travel and wear name brands like her.

I told the wife if she wants to go down that road, it had to be with her own money(pre marriage).

They think DoorDash and Mary Kay makes them an entrepreneur.

It sounds ridiculous and somewhat negates the titles but if this keeps people going back to work every day I dont care what they call themselves honestly.

We need people to get back to work and stay at work.

Having an OnlyFans does not make you a CEO and Founder.

People don’t have enough self-confidence to do something just because they find intrinsic value in it. All that matters to them is what someone else thinks of what they’re doing. The “girl boss” trope is just low-hanging fruit for women who can’t unplug from social media for 5 minutes without feeling like life isn’t worth living anymore.

I’m a female with an exec-level job in a male-dominated industry who didn’t get where I’ve gotten overnight, and you know what always earns you professional respect no matter what field you’re in? Being damn good at your job. Show up and do that day after day, and no one cares if you’re a man or a woman.

Keyword is “calling themselves.”

I roll my eyes when I see women do the entrepreneur thing. It just reeks of “look at me”.

We all know plenty of dudes who are actually successful entrepreneurs (i.e., they don’t run an OnlyFans) who would never put that stuff in their social media bio.

It's like hookwrs calling themselves escorts or sugar babies. Women lie to themselves as much as they do men
