I hope you have a great Thursday night bro. The rest of us will be busy rebuilding our towns.

The flooding is miles away from me. It's completely unnecessary to shut down the LSU, downtown, mid city, and Perkins areas.

Is this the thread where we say no one can take part in any enjoyable/leisurely activities while others are in need?

Heard on the radio earlier, per Casey Hicks with EBR sheriff the curfew will be in effect in EBR tonight.

Is the EBRSO going to reimburse lost wages for all lost wages due to this curfew?

Can we get a voucher to give to bill companies and land lords and such?

What choice do people have when they are fortunate enough to have jobs and businesses that were not flooded?

I was able to make it across the Florida Blvd Amite bridge to my wife's grandparents house Tuesday at 6am as soon as the curfew was lifted and the water dropped. Made a quick walkaround to get an idea of what we were dealing with. Then went into work for the day. By the time I made it back out there Tuesday evening I only had 3hrs to work before the curfew kicked in. The curfews just make it that much harder on people trying work and help family. Not to mention it is a little more comfortable working at night instead of the day.

She also stated that the curfew gives them probable cause to stop people and ask what they are doing. If you have a legitimate reason for being out, you are fine. It helps them be proactive instead of reactive to the scumbags looking to steal shite.
And frick every last one of you that are bitching about it because you can't go out drinking tonight. Have some fricking sympathy you POS

It's the new normal.

Give a little power, turn over a few rights, and you are toast.

Rumor has it curfew is permanent. Heard EBR has a proposal, Livingston, Ascension following suit.

Found this somewhere online as an example: "EBR Ordinance 2016 5013:

Section 5. Law Enforcement Effectiveness.

It has been shown that the effectiveness of law enforcement is far greater with a reasonable curfew in place for all citizens who reside in the Prish. Therefore, it is enacted that all persons shall remain indoors from 10:00 pm until 6:00 am and not travel on any roadway. Violators shall be punished in accordance with section 14:21 of the LA Criminal Code, misdemeanor traffic violations for the first offense, escalating thereafter."
