I have 4 adult sons. I live the in central Al. I have two in the Navy, San Diego and Norfolk. Both have been deployed and it was around 8 month for one and 11 for the other. My other two live in South Carolina and Birmingham. I see them roughly every 6 weeks or so. Raising strong independent men can have its drawbacks.

My son, is guess the week he went to summer camp When he was 12.

My daughter, about 4-5 days they kept her away from the hospital so she wouldn’t see me in such bad shape.

My wife went to visit family over the summer, had to stay home and work, so 5 weeks. It was hell. Had to hide all their toys so I wasn't constantly reminded they weren't there.

I didn’t meet my newborn sons (twins) until they were six months old, coming home on R&R.

There has not been a single day that I haven’t seen my kids in person. Granted they are 2.5 and 7 months old.

Our oldest son lives in Florida, we see him 4-5 times a year. Longest I went without seeing him probably 5 months. Longest without seeing my younger son was a week when he was visiting his brother in Florida. I was wild and out partying in my 20's when they were young and took them for granted. The older I get I want to see them every day and give them a hug. Love my boys.

Well I never said he didn’t deserve the prison time. I just can’t imagine being apart from my kids that long.
