We had this thread last week. I graduated in 2002, knew of Pokemon (cartoon), but none of my peers were at all interested in it whatsoever. Never saw it, never saw any games about it being played, etc.
It was determined that we were basically the cut off. Apparently it was huge for ages just younger than us.

Is only been the most popular game for the last 20 years.

I should have added that the 20-something year old girl is detailing where she and all her single friends will be going out tonight. The two guys talking about pokemon are ignoring her and instead discussing the strategy they're going to use to find new areas to play. To each their own, but excuse me for thinking that's a little weird.

It's an AR iPhone game which focuses on catching pocket monsters, or "Pokemon". Pretty basic.
