What happens to all the aluminum cans on campus after a home game?

Seems like someone could clean up if they actually harvested the parade grounds. I doubt the price of aluminum is high at the moment but surely some enterprising person or bum could make some coin off of this.

Does it already get recycled? Or just trashed?

Seems like a waste.

If someone felt like digging through all the trash to get cans... drunks don't separate shite into recyclables. You can't even get those frickers to throw stuff in a garbage can most of the time.

From what I saw on the parade grounds they wouldn't have to dig much.

The fratboys, cheap beer they did taste
In the garbage cans, all cans were placed
The very next day
Convicts took them away
And now all that profit is waste

back in the day, i would walk for ***MILES*** just to find 3 or 4 coke bottles i could get a nickel for at the grocery store.

bonus if i found a 32 oz bottle because it was worth 10 cents..the equivalent of finding gold to me.

if the fricksticks who want us to 'recycle for mother earth's sake' would simply make it financially rewarding, you'd have 5,000 poor college students scouring the campus after each game picking the campus clean of aluminun cans so they would have some beer money.

until they enact something like this, my shite goes into the same garbage can.

In Iowa City when we tailgate everyone throws their cans into a pile on the ground, not in garbage bins or dumpsters. Every few tailgate spots there will be another mound of cans to drop your empties onto. Makes it easy for the can collectors and aluminum merchants to do their job. No having to dig in trashbins or dumpsters and having to deal with food and other garbage. Just neatly pryamided piles of cans all over the place.

I was going to say, $0.10 deposit here leads to kids and poors making it really tidy after games.
