I saw a video of one of those places. At high tide, they just plow a ship up onto the mud flat until it grounds. No PPE for anybody and anything goes as far health and safety are concerned. Nuts...

Not to be forgotten is that a big part of US Navy superiority is the ability to train more or less constantly. The Russian Navy can barely afford to put ships to sea, let alone drill the crews. Hardware doesn't help if you don't have people who know how to operate them effectively.
