What happened at intersection of Old Hammond and Sherwood?

gf passed it an hour ago and was blocked with cops everywhere. Yellow taped off areas and such.
She just went back by now and it's still blocked off.
Any news? Wreck?
Eta. Update. She sees now it's a bad wreck. Definitely a fatal crash she said. Damn.

Not the safest intersection in BR. Sherwood becomes one lane there.

Her "drive by" analysis looks like Southbound sherwood suv was waiting to turn left onto old Hammond when a truck slammed into a car, pushed it slightly under the suv waiting to turn, and ended up on top of the car. Terrible.

How do you end up in a fatal wreck there? Someone must have been going way too fast.

Guy I knew in high school died at that intersection. Old Hammond was 2 lanes then.
