What do you think about someone joining the Peshmerga (fighting Kurds)?

Two men who work for my company(both of whom have actual combat experience in Afghanistan)are thinking of joining the Peshmerga to fight the ISIL. Isn't there some law against an American fighting in a foreign war? They have both asked me what I think, and I have mixed feelings. They want to go because they view ISIL as a huge threat to us, so they are patriots. Because they are good guys, I hate to see them take such a risk (though both say they know the Kurds and trust them).

ISIS isn't a threat and they would accomplish nothing.

I say yes, and you should roll with them.

I hear they have limited internet connectivity over there

Sounds good to me although they are risking their lives for naught. The politics in this arrangement are way outside our scope of understanding (nor will we ever know what back door deals our prez and the other PM's are making with eachother at the expense of the Kurds).

As long as one of them goes by the nickname "Kurd Sandwich" I'm all for it.

There's a long history of this. If they want to go and possibly die for that cause, then I say let them.

ISIS probably pays rewards for Americans over there. I wouldn't trust any of those fricks.
