I have a friend who is Debbie Downer from SNL. He's constantly bringing everyone down. Constantly saying that every endeavor will fail and is generally not a supportive person. Yet, he's one of the most loyal guys you'll ever meet and will give you his last dollar for said endeavor even though he thinks we're all doomed.

Sounds like a keeper.

Try to ignore them or not become friends with them in the first place.
It sucks when it's a close family member though.

Can't stand drama starters either

He sounds bipolar. I don't know many miserable people who are also so loyal and generous. I'd say to distance yourself if it's that extreme, or have a chat with him about it. At some point you can't change people. I have tried with several people and ultimately just have to either cut them out or get accustomed to their personalities.

Talk to him and tell him to knock it or or stop hanging out with him. It's really simple.

I distance myself from people like that. They are energy vampires.

About a year ago I realized that I had some people in my life who were not positive for me... They were always talking about each other in negative ways. I had to cut them off completely.
This one guy I have helped multiple times with projects and talks. The only time I asked him for help (not money) he gave me a big OLD NO! I have known this guy for a very long time (almost 40 years). I have not cut him off but there is a huge distance between us from now on..

Stay far away. Theyll suck the life out of you.

These people post all over social media about being "real" and honest.

Yeah, they're real negative. No one wants that crap.
