My sister, brother and I all got together and ordered a brick gift package from the National WWII museum with our grandfather's (his dad's) name inscribed. You get a book and a few other things with the purchase.

Very cool, man.

Lowes gift card...the parents built a beach house about 4 years ago and he always has a new project there that he is working on. We keep him supplied in Lowes gift cards for birthday/Christmas/Father's Day to fund his projects.

Not special, but he's a simple man with simple pleasures

Nothing, yet. And probably not much.

I'm getting my grandpa a gift card to Barnes and Noble.
And I'm getting my fil some Magellan shirts.

I find men extremely difficult to buy for. Women you can just get any old piece of jewelry/candle/bath stuff. So much easier.

Bookmarked for later. Doesn't need or want anything. Anything he could use I can't afford.

Our parent gift giving got a whole lot easier and effective since we started using Omaha Steaks...
Both our parents don't want for anything and just adding to hobbies got old...
We go on line and order a lot of different steaks and fish and just have them sent...
They love it, we know they can use it and because of my parents upbringing, they generally don't buy steaks for themselves.
The quality is very good...

Yaktrax for snow and ice. I have had mine for a few years and I don't have need for it often. But when we have these big ice storms, I slip these things over my boots and can walk like Jesus across the frozen tundra.

The coolest part it is repeatable...
Ask what they liked the best and modify next yrs order accordingly...
