It isn't like sitting through a Justin Beiber Documentary that you can't turn off. There are things to do that any unhappy sap can enjoy.
For us, the decision was made for two reasons:
1-I can be on the boat less than an hour and a half after I walk out of my office. When I get off the boat, I am home in less than an hour. Even dealing with the traffic exiting the boat, it's still less time than driving from Destin or Orange Beach.
2-For three of us to cruise (including food), it was less than the cost of the condos we wanted for Labor Day weekend. The food isn't terrible, just don't order anything that needs to be cooked to a specific temp
(when in doubt between the chicken parm and the steak wellington, get the parm)
Like I said, I think there's a difference between taking a cruise for a good time and making a cruise THE vacation you take this year. We just got back form Paris, are going back to Disney for 8 days in January. Spending 4 days at a State Park in August. We wanted something quick and easy that didn't require more than 1 day off work Carnival was perfect.
