Stop buying cheap weed eaters. Also, like any other machine it requires maintenance.

I weed eat once or twice a year. The rest of the time I use round up or some other weed / grass killer.

Had Sthil and liked it except for the exhaust from it and blower. Sold them and went with EGO. Haven’t looked back.

You must have a small baby yard.

I have Ego stuff with a 5ah pack and a 2.5ah pack (might be the smallest pack they have). I have just under an acre with 400ft of fence line, about 300ft to trim around the house, 4 big oaks to trim around and then a few hundred more feet of misc to trim. Then I walk around the block and trim another property that's 1/3rd acre with 200ft of fence line, 200ft to trim around the house, 3 more big oaks to trim around, a shed plus maybe 100ft of misc more to trim.

I do all that on a single charge of the smallest 2.5ah pack, and I have never run it dead. The battery meter indicates between 20-40% charge left when I'm finished.

I use my bigger pack for the edger and blower. If you'd like I could figure up how many feet of edging and square feet of blowing I do between these two properties on one charge of the 5ah.

Here's a tip, mow once, then instead of weed eating, spray glyphosate (round up) everywhere you would have. No more weed eating.

I hate electric cars and the push for them but I will say since I swapped to electric yard tools I love them

Quiet
Low maintenance
Easy to use

If you had a big yard it would suck but they’re great for smaller yards

I relaced my default DeWalt head with a speed feeder. It's been running smoothly.

I spent $30 to get two off brand batteries for my ryobi WE and I can cover my whole acre spread. Also works with any other Ryobi stuff. Agreed one battery doesn’t cut it but I’ve replaced mowers between my Ryobi’s lifecycle.

I weed eat 1 acre fenced on 3 sides and about 75 yards of drive way. 40 volt Greenworks trimmer. With the 5 AH battery can do it twice on one charge. Has tons more torque at low rpm than the Echo I got rid of. Electric motor torque characteristics or Ideal for lawn tools. Next on my list electric zero turn. My neighbor does 2 acres on a charge.

Walk in home Depot, grab an echo straight shaft trimmer and a can of 50:1 tru-fuel. It'll be an instant 20 point drop to your blood pressure

Don't know what brand you got but probably not Ego.

Don't want to hear Ego not powerful enough or you must have a small yard. Ego kicks arse period. I have two acres. I do have to recharge, I can't lie. I still hate weed trimming but not because of the Ego. Summer heat is still hot if you know what I mean .

I got one yesterday. I should’ve bought electric years ago. I’m never going back to gas. I live on an acre and have lots of fence line. 4ah got it all done and I still had power to blow down the patio.

Buy a nice Stihl weed eater and use the ethanol free gas in a can

I have a lawn care business and we have Huscvarna's, Stihls and Echo's. They guys hate the Stihl. They use the crap out of the Huscvarna's and the Echo's are guaranteed to start every time

I am rooting for the day when we can go electric with our business. I would love to not have to deal with carbs, gas, air filters and oil mixtures

HIGHLY recommend the ryobi 40v system. I have the weedeater and edger attachments. And a separate blower.

Very well made and convenient. Never going back to gas

Yep

The only thing I go gas on other than my mower right now is my backpack blower. We have alot of trees in the back yard and leaves get buried down deep in the grass and the battery blowers don't have enough power to get them out.
