Was I insane to do this yesterday to avoid the weather?

So it was my day off yesterday. Wife was at work, so it was just me and the dogs chilling. I am at home, (live very close to interstate in Prairieville.) watching the crazy weather on TV.
They say a bad cell will be passing over Prairieville in 20 min. So I make the quick decision to put my shoes on, put the dogs in the car and go to Sorrento. The first cell was mostly above us, so that's why I went south. I parked at a gas station and watched the clouds pass right by. This was the same cell that later hit Killian with a Tornado. I watched FB live to keep up and see if storm shifted or another one was popping up in Sorrento where I was. I went back home 25 min later.
As soon as I get home, they say another cell popped up and was going to be mostly south of us (but we were still in the path zone) passing over Gonzales/Dville. At first I was like screw it, I am not leaving again. But then I changed my mind and did the samething except I went North to Highland Road and stopped at a gas station and did the same as the first time. This cell had the Tornado that hit Donaldsonville and later N.O.
I know I took a chance since there could have been a wreck on the interstate and I could have gotten trapped. But, with a 20 min heads up, I felt like it was worth it.
Wife said it was risky, but I felt like it was a good move with a 20 min warning and visual on FB live.

True...But it is a risk. I just think with how accurate the technology was with knowing the direction the storm would go and a 20 min head start, why not?!

Long story short, absolutely nothing happened to him.

Sounds as if it worked out well this time.
Haven't you been married long enough to know your wife will second guess virtually every decision you make without consulting her?

should have at least taken the dogs to the park or something.

It's not a bad idea in theory, but tons of people die in their cars stuck in traffic trying to do what you did.

Did you just admit to being afraid of bad weather?
