Is this a decent place to live for a young couple? Would Working in BR and living there be ideal? Not OT baller or anything. Prefer something not cookie cutter.

Many do. About 20 mins to downtown between 6-7 am. After that it’s 40-45 mins.

Good luck with that.

Traffic sucks to commute. Very few good restaurants. No good bars.
Pretty good schools.

terd would be your neighbor. He’s like the unofficial goodwill ambassador for Walker.

Check his post history so you know what you’re getting into.

I think so. Not too crowded, has a few restaurants and grocery stores, good schools, easier to get in and out of Baton Rouge than Ascension.

The commute will be tough during rush hour. They do have a lot of subdivisions around there some with small homes and some rather large. Shop around and you can find a nice place. Not much to do to say the least but you're close enough to everything else.

Is it totally developed or are there still some rural parts that have trees and where you’re not up your neighbors arse?

With the growth of juban crossing you don’t have to worry about lack of options in walker. They will be one exit away. Much better to live in walker or Livingston imo than Watson bc you’re closer to interstate.

I feel like pretty much every commute is a struggle during rush hour. At this point, what’s the least crappy but still in within 40 mins of BR?

Do yourself a favor. Ride out there and see if you can handle the smell of the landfill. If you can handle it then have at it.

Louisiana’s Walker is contemplating being a sister city to Texas’ Ranger.

So if you gotta be at work in BR midcity by 7 and leave work by 3 or 330, would you see traffic issues?

If you don’t have a lot of money and just need a decent place to live, you probably will have to bear with the agony of not living in a 100% unique structure unlike any other in the world. Just as your car and everything else you own is also not unique, your house might look similar to another house.

It would suck a fair amount less at that time. I lived off of Juban and commuted to Midcity and Essen during our 7 years in LP
