Any idea why they are knocking out all the pine trees at the walker exit? What do they have planned?

Round-a-bout

It's the new buzz word at DOTD. I think it curbs the boredom for some of those 40+ year employees. We should have round-a-bouts at all intersections! WTF?

Livingston is a NASCAR town, not a road course town. They're throwing in chicanes.

Some skeptical in Walker over state proposal to build nine roundabouts in 2.5 mile stretch

Construction of two of those roundabouts at the Interstate 12 ramps was let for bid earlier this month, and DOTD is working to finalize the $6.7 million contract with Kort’s Construction Services, of Covington, spokeswoman Bambi Hall said.

Walker will be the first city in the Baton Rouge area to have interchange roundabouts, according to DOTD records. Construction of a similar design is underway at I-12 and U.S. 51 Business in Hammond. Others are planned for I-12 at Juban Road and I-10 at La. 30.

That seems like a little much. But I will hold off judgement until they are complete. I thought they were a waste of money until they installed one at 42/431. It is amazing the difference that roundabout has made. Maybe these will too? Traffic isn't bad now unless you're south of the interstate. So I'm glad to see them getting ahead of the curve.

...Where it's terrible. The roundabout will help tremendously there, just like it did in Hammond.

Works pretty well in Hammond when they aren't doing construction on them.

I'm not sure about a few of those but the Interstate one's are much needed.

As is the one at Juban/Florida and Eden Church/Florida.

Now, getting everyone on the same page, as to HOW you drive them, is another story.
