One reason things will never get fixed. The state doesn’t want to improve, they just want people to bear it out.

Baton Rouge is not an attractive place to recruit and retain a talented workforce.

Horrible crime and a non-functioning public school system.

People from other parts of the country don't accept private school as their only option.

What Baton Rouge can learn from Walk-On’s moving its headquarters to Atlanta

They will learn nothing. That much is obvious. In fact, they will likely double down on stupidity.

“Is Baton Rouge a good place to start a business and live?”

“Well, they call the new bridge something that was built in 1960?”

When a significant area of the parish voted to become their own city in hopes of getting things better and eventually starting their own school system; the powers that be did everything in their power to stop it.

That’s the mentality here. Thd results are obvious. Despite being the capital, having LSU and in the midst of an industrial boom in the metro area; EBR is rotting from north to south.

Why would WalkOns moving be the thing that causes change rather than the much larger companies that have moved in the past?

Why are restaurant chains moving their headquarters to Atlanta? It seems Atlanta has become a hub for them.

Same reason they are also moving to Dallas too (Raising Cane's, Smoothie King, 7/11, Pizza Hut, Chili's, etc).
- Access to international airports with domestic hubs so they can easily fly to their markets
- A steady stream of young white collar workers.
- Although Dallas and Atlanta aren't exactly ringing examples of quality of life measures. Places nearby like Plano, Frisco, John's Creek, and Alpharetta are routinely named some of America's best places to live. If you can find a job that pays an extra 1k to 2k per month, you probably come out the same financially and you're living in a better run city.

These aren't complicated concepts but Louisianans still like to cope instead of holding their leaders accountable.

We are located there and the talent and transportation had always been key features. Thankfully i work for a franchise but BR makes sense since Louisiana is our territory
