How neat is it that the principal for dutchtown primary left a voice message at 9 pm last night.

Apparently there was a bomb threat at the school yesterday.

Thanks for letting us know in a timely fashion

You think it was a credible threat? Or are you saying that with your in depth knowledge the school did the wrong thing?

What are you arguing here?

If the school knew about it before, they should have informed the parents

A credible threat? You must be trolling.

I was asking for facts. A primary school seems like a seriously unlikely place to have a bomb.

No doubt APSO has the resources to search that small school, with a dog or otherwise, in a matter of an hour.

Not sure how long they knew before, but what makes you feel safe sending your kid today knowing a dud bomb could be sitting in a closet?

Saying that I doubt the principal sat on this info without escalating up the chain. If they did, I am right with you in the outrage.

It's connected to the middle school. They had several cops yesterday morning at the school when we dropped them off, however they chose to NOT inform us of why the increase in police.

That isn't the point. If they knew about, they should have informed the parents.

It isn't the school's gamble to make, even if there are ridiculous odds

Yeah, they were from Twin Lakes I think, had heard reform school type stuff. That was a big deal because Columbine was sort of fresh as was 9/11.

So, as a parent, you would not send your kids to DPS today.

I'm not sending mine. I've seen youth violence before, no thanks. No glory in that.

This stems from an excessive bullying incident and the threat was made by the one getting bullied.

No history of anyone ever snapping in a situation like that, is there?

I don't remember a 4th grader shooting up a school, but I might have missed it.

If the threat was as serious as you're making it out to be, logic tells me that the right steps would've been taken to make sure every child was safe. I get your point, but I see where fightingtigers is coming from too

How do you know if it's serious or not until it's too late?

Farthest thing from it.

Just have seen people overreact many times before in these situations.

from an outsiders prospective, it seems like a threat was made, lack of credibility determined, safety checks done, and life went on.

I am not belittling a bomb scare, been through several. Sometimes threats are different and some facts look bad out of context.

Also, not sure how their robocall works. Possibly it does not leave a message, or maybe a techincal glitch got it.
