Does anyone have them as their security?
Guy rang door bell and told me he could wave the $100 install fee and install system for $50 a month for 3 and a half years which would include carbon detector glass breaking sensor sensors on the doors and windows and a couple other things.

Told me for $20 more a month could add 3 additional security pieces. Could get door lock
Monitored thermostat cameras or doorbell with camera.

It was during LSU game so didn't really pay to much attention.

Is it a good deal? Is it a good company? Anyone with experience or know about good alarm companies?

I have Vivint. My point of view......
- they are not the low cost provider but have more to offer than most
- they have better technology than most companies. The phone and iPad app is awesome
- they have some (not all) sleazy salesmen, but the company is legit
- they have a huge presence on the West coast and they are just breaking into this market
- all in all, I have been pleased. I like being able to control my entire house with my cell phone. I can lock doors, set the alarm, turn off lamps, set the thermostat all from my phone

We got in on one of those deals. They bombarded our neighborhood about a year ago. Bunch of Mormons peddling the stuff. Made our HOA enact a no solicitation policy.

That being said, the service and hardware they hooked us up with are awesome. Can control everything from my phone. I love that u can control your AC as well. I highly recommend it. Those Mormons run a clean company.

Had a guy come to my house today from vivant. Was gonna get 3 outdoor and one indoor camera plus all the other monitoring equipment for $600, plus $69/mo for 2 years. Told him I would Call him later knowing I wated to research it first. Of couse he wants me to sign then and I said no. After reading reviews, vivant seems to be one of the worst companies to deal with and their support sucks. I'm glad I waited.

My SO just told me someone came by our house today and talked to her about this. They wanted to talk to me Friday, so I'm all ears.

No thanks. The company's name isn't catchy enough.

Happen to live in Legacy? They've hit me up around 4 or 5 times over the last two years, recently about a week ago.

Vivint's sales practices have resulted in over 3,000 complaints to the Better Business Bureau, and resulted in investigations by at least fifteen states.[58][59] The Better Business Bureau has given Vivint a grade of "F", and issued a special warning about the firm, having received over 3,000 complaints over the past three years. BBB alleges that Vivint has resolved some customer complaints to avoid bad publicity, but has not addressed a "broader problem of false promises by door-to-door salespeople".

yikes

I think I'll stay away from this one
