Lol at all the student loan bullshite in this thread

This kid is going to an Ivy League school on a full ride, not Loyola New Orleans

No shite. Take the fricking loan. Once in a lifetime opportunity.

I would tell my son to take the loan and I would work my fingers to the fricking bone to help him.

ohh i do see similar reactions at sporting events. It's entertainment and not meant for reserved reactions.

Their child just got into the fricking ivy league, let them have fun.

That's what i'm talking about. Why does fun need to result in that type of reaction for certain subsets of society?

You are just a pathetic loser. Their kid just got accepted into one of the most prestigious universities in the world. You just come across as a jealous pos, who hates knowing that a black kid is having that opportunity that you weren't capable of achieving.

People here want to bitch and say black people are leeching off the government. But when you see one who succeeds and accomplishs his dream, y'all try to diminish his accomplishment. It's pretty fricking pathetic.

I'm white, but if I had a kid who got accepted into an ivy league school, my reaction would've been identical. You may even see champagne corks start flying.

not me really. I was wondering about proper decorum when it comes to happy reactions to situations. Evidently i'm not the only one who noticed this

That's because you're not the only dumbass cracker on here, that can't quit obsessing over race.

if my son got accepted into an Ivy League school and 'acted' like that and you felt the need to say something like that to my face or his - I'd open hand slap the shite out of you in front of everyone so they'd know how much of a bitch you really are

Good for that young man, he has taken a big step in 'making' it but yet you feel the need to shite on him.. you are bottom of the barrel man

What college did you go to and graduate from?? Bet you duck the shite out of that question

He probably is rocking a micro peen, and is already jealous of the BBC. Knowing he'll also be more successful financially successful in life probably eats at his soul.

As much as I love Louisiana and its culture, threads like these make me remember how backwards it can be down there.

Not Ivy Leauge, but my son will be applying for admission to Notre Dame later this month. It's been his goal to attend school there since he was 8, and it has motivated him to maintain all A's to this point in his senior year. If he gets accepted there will be a raucous celebration at our house. Only difference is we won't film it. Congrats to that kid for achieving something that will change his life!

There should be. ND is tough to get into and he'll stand out above all the other entitled lazy kids he goes to school with.

Who would want a vet that went to Cornell? I think they're only qualified to work on Great Danes and purse dogs. I want a vet that had to jack off a horse as an undergrad.

That's god dam signature material right there.

My uncle got his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Cornell. He went on to be Director of Central Research at Dupont, I'd say it's a pretty respectable school.

I think all Ivy League colleges give full ride scholarships (tuition, room, and board) for kids whose parents make less than $60,000 per year.

Especially Harvard, admission is need blind, if you are admitted they will provide aid. Families with incomes of 65,000 to $150,000 contribute from 0-10% of their income, those with income less than $65,000 pay nothing.

Not going to read the whole thread to see if this has been noted.

Joe Nieuwendyk, who was the recipient of the Conn Smythe Trophy when Dallas won the Stanley Cup, is a Cornell grad.
