I think ROK might have something to say about that, too... But, I doubt they are ahead of the UK and India. Maybe Pakistan, heck, maybe even Germany but doubtful.

What happened to France? Besides their mess up in WW2 they used to be a world superpower throughout history.

FFL is bad to the bone.
French Politicians are pussies, but then again so are ours.

They spend almost twice that of the RoK, have nuclear weapons, an aircraft carrier, and have fought in conflicts in probably a dozen different countries since 2001 (compared to RoK sending a few symbolic support battalions to Iraq and Afghanistan). Give me the French over the RoK (who are good and with whom I have also trained) every day.

Maybe this will steer the french towards doing something about their infestation problem

Nukes at this point are useless since none have been used since '45. Skirmishes and full-out conflicts are two different things. Somehow, I don't recall too much of a French force in Iraq, other than a skeleton crew. Compare the two - I don't have the facts/figures in front of me.

Well, for one thing they got nukes.
Second they already bombed ISIS about a week ago.
Nukes? NK has nukes, does that make them in the same league?
Dropping a few bombs in a symbolic gesture? Get real. Come back when they put a boots on the ground in sufficient numbers - not some half-arse gesture.

They would wipe the floor with almost every country and their soldiers are some of the best fighters in the world
don't let Parisian culture cloud your judgment

They make the Germans look like the Mexican army.
French front-line soldiers are tough motherfrickin dudes. Not the types you'd generally want to meet in a back alley.

I'd take Germany and lay the points.

Was working jointly at a fob overseas with FFL guys. I'd compare them to spec forces guys on our side.
Thier basic training ain't so basic. You literally can and may die during training.

I can't speak for how things are today on the ground, but when I was stationed in Germany back in the late 80's, I'd put a Bundeswehr Panzer Division up against any formation in the world that's not American or British.

my comment was more about their pussy nature when dealing with terrorism and their hesitancy to help their "ally" when called upon...
You mean when they refused to help the U.S. with it's campaign in Iraq? The French had the last laugh on that one.

I'm wondering what the public reaction will be when Jim Bob and the three Darryl's kidnap a Muslim and behead him on video then get prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Obviously they should be, but I can see there being some serious support for them and civil unrest.

is it just me or is Isis only a threat to foreign journalists?

Punishment for ISIS: Cut off their balls and tweeters, turn 'em into eunuchs.

They lost 1/3 of their male population during ww1.

The French are all over North Africa and even into the Central parts (CAR)...generally keeping the muslims at bay.
When the Benghazi event went down it was the French that held the airport open so that the US Dips. could escape.
