Victim turned the tables during robbery at Craigslist transaction

Investigators said a man scheduled a meeting with others in the parking lot of a bowling alley on Airline Highway to sell something he posted on Craigslist. Police said the victim, who was selling the merchandise, was held at gunpoint around 7:30. The victim posted on Facebook he fired after being shot at. "I had two guns pointed to my head and I got shot at, the bulet (sic) missed me by inches so I know God was with me," the victim wrote. "I'm grateful to be alive today and I'm greateful (sic) for my guns. ...For those that think guns are bad and should be taking away from American citizens think again, because mine saved my life." After the shooting, the suspect ran into All Star Lanes. Overnight, police said one person was detained for questioning but there was no information available about the suspect Friday. Police did release that the victim was robbed of several items, including what he was trying to sell. Police did not release specifics about the merchandise. No one was hit, and no one was hurt in the altercation.

Criminals will still have guns. So in your situation, the two guys have a gun, he doesn't. He's dead.
People are dumb if they think the public will just hand over their guns.
Unless they destroy every gun, guns will be floating around out there. And decent humans won't be able to protect themselves.

If you say so. If you say that all crimes committed with guns would still be committed if it is illegal to obtain guns, then who am I to suggest otherwise.
However that logic according to his quote, which is the subject of my post, would suggest that these robbers were not american citizens. Therefore, you can put me down as a +1 for Trump.

I see what you are saying.
What I'm saying is that for 225 years Americans have had the rt to bear arms. So good luck finding 225 years worth of guns. I'm just saying criminals, probably a long with non criminals, aren't just going to hand them over.
During prohibition, did people stop selling alcohol? No.
Maybe I'm bad at reading, but I don't see in your quote or the article where it says the robbers were not American citizens. Which I still don't think it matters. Cus non Americans living in America have guns as well. And would continue to even if they banned them.

That's a terrible meeting spot. I had one night time Craigslist meeting once where the seller was what I would refer to as, relatively shady, but I figured I was pretty unlikely to get robbed and murdered parked directly in front of the door of a busy Walgreens.
Still had my pistol just in case though.

Are you saying that criminals who use guns would suddenly decide to respect a law precluding them from obtaining guns. Assuming the law did not preclude them from obtaining their gun in the first place, it certainly DID preclude them from committing a crime with thier gun.
