Does anyone have this? I will have a child driving in 6 weeks and am curious if this is a good tool. Seems like a good way to track a new driver until they prove reliability.

FWIW I am damn glad they didn't have this shite when I was a kid.

I have one installed on my daughter's car. She's a new driver and I set a perimeter that if she goes beyond, it immediately sends me a text.

What auto insurance do you have?

If you want to track the driving habits of your kid, might as well save some money on your insurance premium in the process

a couple of companies offer this

God damn! At least make it a game. If I was a teenager I would revert to my bike where I couldn't be tracked. This is how snowflakes are created.

No idea on the Hum, sometimes (for the right kid) the mere appearance of tracking technology is enough to scare them out of some risky behavior.

The little Fëëts knew I could track my work vehicles via the Internet. I never directly said to them that I had installed the same tracking devices on the vehicles we furnished to them to drive but they've since come to me and told me they thought I had and it scared them to go too fast or to the wrong locale.

tl/dr: Superglue a fake GPS-look antenna on the roof and tell your teenager that you can see for miles and miles and miles and miles....
