That's good to hear. Parents should have the right to not let their children be indoctrined

Just teach goddamn history. Giving black history a particular month trivializes black history.

So we are just inventing a new definition for the term “right” now? Because that’s not at all what it means.

Yes, we do have a right to control the education of our children. There's actually very little in the law that qualifies or reduces that right.

This isn’t a public school. And even then the right for a parent to control the child’s education is limited. Do you think a parent of a public school child has the right to opt them out of algebra?

Seems a little excessive to force kids to learn about the invention of peanut butter every February but lets not offend anyone

Good, its a racist premise to begin with and its about indoctrinating children

Just like the bullshite that is taught that Christopher Columbus discovered America as well as a multitude of other shite that's not true.

They didn’t though. Peanut butter had already been invented by the time George Washington Carver wrote his book.

We homeschool- every year we take standardized tests to turn into the state - the only question my kindergartner got wrong one year was about MLK, JR. I failed to teach who it was, and it wasn’t even in the curriculum I use.

I don't think learning about slavery, Jim Crow, etc. is the worst thing considering how recent it was... but you basically spend a two weeks on it every year from 2nd grade - senior year in public schools. it's a bit much.
Best thing Trump ever did was not say that he "likes his immigrant's not being enslaved" after the McCain "captured prisoner" snafu.

Carving out a BHM is saying “here’s a bunch of unimportant stuff that doesn’t rise to the level of the history we teach the other 11 months, but some people were mean, so we have to teach this.”

It should be insulting, but I guess it’s not.

If things of note happen to white, black, hispanic, asian americans then it needs to be taught as American history. Why do we have to segregate a certain group.
