I was wondering if it’s worth the effort.

I had no idea this was a thing. It doesn’t seem like it should be a thing.

When did they start selling whole cars?

I think they just act as a liaison with a dealer.

Probably bullshite.

Why would you intentionally add another middleman to an already fricked up process?

Bought my wife a CRV. They referred us to Superior Honda. Internet Sales person emailed us the deal. I researched it and was satisfied. Went to the dealership to sign paperwork. Was out in about 90 minutes.
Edit: went through Costco

We did it through Costco a few years ago and thought it was pretty easy and straightforward. They send you a list of the dealers in your area they work with. Set price, no haggling.

We looked on various websites to see what the lowest price off the sticker price dealers would usually agree to and the Costco price was comparable. Because of that, we ordered the vehicle with the specific features and colors we wanted.

But this was pre-Covid, before the new car market went nuts so I don't know how it would be now.

Good point, ours was in 2020 but there were still cars on the lot. My wife went back 6 months later for an oil change and the lot was a ghost town.

Yeah I went through this in November 2021. Didn't get any better deal through Costco than what was on the dealer website front page. I'd try it out but don't hold your breath for anything great

Wife bought an Audi Q5 through Costco. Seamless process and the price was competitive.

Costco and Sam's sell cars? I thought all of those cars in the parking lot were customers.

You get no haggle pre-determined fleet pricing. Not bad if hate the normal car buying experience.

I found my truck, and the dealer actually asked if I was a Costco member after the negotiations. They made a copy of my card and took care of whatever paperwork Costco has. So pretty seamless for me. It took an extra $1500 or so off the price.

Not surprised they have their own finance company.

I would imagine it’s the same as any other car dealership finance program with as big as those 2 companies are

Does this mean financing is handled through the dealer?

Or can you charge it to your Costco credit card and pay it off the next month for the points (if theoretically a friend I am asking about might have stacks of cash laying around to do such a thing).
