Southern Cal really is in the ghetto I wouldn't call the area surrounding Tulane ghetto.

If not and all other things are equal.... It's a non-debate... USC might be in a little bit of a sketch neighborhood in South downtown, but you are also only about 4-5 miles from the beaches of Santa Monica... also depending on the field, the degree will be exponentially more valuable

I'd go to USC no doubt but Tulane is not in the ghetto.

I will say this though. You will likely have a better time at Tulane. At least the Tulane atmosphere, culture, and city will provide you more opportunities.

It's really not that bad any more and quickly gentrifying. Way better than even a few years ago when I was at SC.
Obviously, south central is not as nice as the area around Tulane
