looking back on it how do you feel about our reaction to 9/11?

Should we have gone after more people, any terrorist supporting countries or did we react to strongly?

I personally feel we didn't do enough in retaliation.

I think the "War on Terror" has been a bit overreaching.

We shouldn't have nation built, but leaving power vacuums are dangerous decades down the line.

The issue is Pakistan, the Saudis, etc. stonewalled us when we wanted to rectify the problem in a more precise manner.

You can't be serious. 200,000 civilian deaths not enough for you?

2,977 civilians is 2,977 too many.

We should have incinerated the entire Muslim world.

And then told Muslims here that if any of them step out of line, they would be sent back there to repopulate the glass.

I think if we we were going to react, it should have been in such an overwhelming manner that the entire world stood back in horror and awe at the level of destruction, death, and complete desolation the US leaves behind against any foe stupid enough to attack us. Our response should have made it clear that to attack the US is the same as committing national suicide. As the famous phrase goes.... "Let them hate, so long as they fear". Had we done that, the "War on Terror" would have been done in a matter of months.

What exactly are you suggesting? Surely you know that we were attacked by a terrorist organization, not another super power. No one thought for a second that Al Qaeda could take down the US.

We should have gone after The people that did it instead of wasting billions creating a power vacuum in Iraq for ISIS to occupy.

I think in 14 years since that day, we have completely forgotten that the radical muslim community still wants to kill every non muslim.

They were a terrorist organization with state backing. I'm suggesting we should have unleashed enough devastation against anyone and everyone connected to 9/11 that those who were left were left no doubt that attacking the US is an extremely bad idea. Bomb them on a level not seen since what we did to Saigon in 73 or Germany & Japan in WWII. And not just one or two strikes. No. bomb them over and over. Bomb them until they're stark raving mad in their bunkers and howling like dogs. And then after that, bomb them some more.
