The Alabama girl reported kidnapped from outside a Walker County home was found inside her father’s SUV deep in the kudzu across the street from where the vehicle was reported stolen. Police on Tuesday said it was likely the SUV was not stolen, nor was the child abducted. Harlow Darby Freeman, 9 months old, was found just before 8:30 a.m. Tuesday by law enforcement officers conducting their fourth search of that area.

“Daylight was our friend on this one,’’ said Parrish police Chief Danny Woodward.

Harlow was in good condition, and family said she has been taken to Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham to be checked out.

Woodard said the investigation is ongoing, but they now believe that the SUV was likely not stolen.

It’s possible, he said, that the vehicle was not put into park and rolled hundreds of yards down a large embankment and into the thick kudzu. Or, he said, somebody else could have done it.

“We’re just not sure yet,’’ he said.
What a crazy story.

I can't think of a horrific enough style of execution for the worthless piece of shite who did that. I'm thinking William Wallace type of brutality.

Cops are urgently searching for Harlow Darby Freeman after she was snatched in the area of Crest Avenue in Parrish, Alabama, at around 6.50pm. Her dad had briefly run into a friend's house when she was taken.

Google that street in images and then you can also judge the dad for leaving the kid in the car. Holy shite that street looks bad. Here's a picture of a house on that street

Why was the baby in the car alone?

Nvm: I see. Saw the mom's Facebook post. Seems sketchy.

I got that Amber alert last night about 10 o'clock 100 miles away. If it did happen at dinnertime, they were long gone by the time the alert went out.

Parrish is near Jasper so whoever stole the car had easy access to backroads, state highways, and interstates running every direction. No telling where they may be. Hopefully the scum made at least one good decision and doesn't hurt that poor baby.

My wife and her friend's have been knee deep in this story.

Apparently the dad left the car running while he went inside and then the car was stolen.

My wife showed me a FB post the mom made begging for them to return her daughter.

That poor baby. I hope she is found unharmed.

This is weird, though. On a rural country road? Someone just happened to be walking by during the 60 seconds he was in the house and took the car? There has to be more to the story.

Even if i was gonna steal a car and got in the car and started to drive away, the first second i realized there was a baby in the car, I’m probably just taking the car back.

I can accept being arrested for stealing a car but you kidnap a baby and you are so fricked.

Hopefully, one of those guys involved in this is smart enough to just have someone take the baby to a fire department or the hospital and walk off.
