Update...United Boeing 737 Max veers OFF the runway into the grass 'after gear collapse' at Houston airport: FAA launches new probe after litany of safety issues

quote:

The aircraft, which arrived from Memphis, is said to have suffered some form of gear collapse as it exited the runway at George Bush Airport, although the 160 passengers and six crew were not injured.

Shocking footage showed the plane lying flat on its wings on grass by the side of the runway, while passengers were hurried off from an emergency gate ladder.

Yep…we used to fly for any drive over 5 hours. Now it’s more like 8 hours. Flying is just a pain in the arse.

I fly almost every week for work. Can confirm that I'm far more likely to face flight delays since the pandemic than before.

Nightmare fuel. I was flying pretty regularly between Bush and BTR for a bit there.

But what was the racial and gender makeup of the flight and maintenance crew? That’s what matters.

Please add 737 MAX 8 to your title. That will get you more clicks and it was a Max 8.

looks like the either pilots werent paying attention to the turn, or ATC had them exit at the wrong turn. either way, for once this isnt on Boeing

Must have bad tires, I guess it’s better than tire falling off.

Wait, you FLY between Houston and Baton Rouge ? That’s like the shortest drive on the planet.. i mean, of course LC can get you, or Beaumont, or Laffy- or all three.. but even my worst drive between BR and Houston (and ive done it hundreds of times)- was better than my best day flying, what with the having to arrive early, and the TSA, and the inevitable delays and the trashy people sitting right on top of me .

Those doing this, if this is not sarcasm, need to be forced to fly monthly with the pilots they’ve chosen.

YT comment states the audio indicates that the pilots requested to exit at end of runway and ATC asked them to keep their speed up. Probably came into the exit a little too hot.
