The government has today accepted the recommendation from the independent Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) to approve Pfizer/BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine for use. This follows months of rigorous clinical trials and a thorough analysis of the data by experts at the MHRA who have concluded that the vaccine has met its strict standards of safety, quality and effectiveness.

UK Govt press release

Regardless of what you think of the virus... this is great news. The arguments for shutdowns etc... will finally come to an end.

I don't share your optimism.
Until 100% risk is removed these people will carry on.
The media has so terrified the weak sheep. They are just clamoring for government control.

I mean, not really. We moved to phase 3 earlier this year when infections were down. If what you say is true that wouldn't have happened. Take your tin foil hat off.

Not sure if you are serious

This is a direct quote from the New York Times this morning...

quote:

The most likely scenario is that even people who don’t qualify as a priority — like healthy, nonessential workers younger than 65 — will begin receiving the vaccine by the spring. The vast majority of Americans could be vaccinated by early summer. Once that happens, life will still not immediately return to normal, partly because the vaccines are not 100 percent effective. “There will still be risks to people,” as Caitlin Rivers, a Johns Hopkins epidemiologist, told me.

Anything more than zero risk.... no normal for you

History will look back on Operation Warp Speed as one of the most impressive government programs of the last 50 years.

I know the PFE vaccine was developed alongside Warp Speed rather than in it like Moderna, but they took advantage of the program’s speed and priority procurement too.

Completely agree. Many expect OWS to fundamentally change the vaccine production and testing process going forward

Agreed the mRNA approach was always such a breakthrough, but there was never any money in curing colds etc.. that they could really advance it.

Now one year after COVID started they have an approved vaccine. Truly a breakthrough in modern medicine.

Yep.
It'll shift to reinfection via mutated virus.
The rare cases of vaccinated ppl getting infected will be highlighted.
The hysteria won't die.
Until every "Karen" and "Ken" feel safe, we are fricked.

The curve is still flattened. It always has been. Yet here we are ten months later.

No.
We did period.
No hospitals were overrun.
Field hospitals went unused.
Louisiana just held a fire sale for the convention center equipment.
"Flatten the curve" is just stretching out infections. It's not eliminating infections.

We have already laid the groundwork

Life cant go back to normal until there is ZERO risk. None. To every single person
