It was bad about 10-15 years ago. This was back when Amanda Scott's and The Plaza were still open.

The good times in Lafayette way back when. Not sure what it's like these days, it sure gets a bad rap.

Me either and I live here. I am old now with a wife and two kids. My idea of going out and drinking is going to a bar at a nice restaurant.

LaFonda is still in the rotation, but Ruffino's is now a mid week stop on either Wed or Thurs for the professionals.

ETA: downtown has been fading for many years now.

Daiquiri Supreme on Johnston was a good spot about 2003 or so. Do people still go there?

Don't know. Only been there once to watch a Saints game.

Janky is probably right, and coupled the usual daiquiri bar scene is why I don't go there.

Tell that to the guy with the "Low4Life" sticker I saw yesterday.

I'm not sure about the craziness of our women. I mean, when 100% of a group is crazy, there's mathematically no way to exceed that.

We are, however, the world capitol of douchebags who hit on your GF at bars. I've seen dozens of fights break out because of this over the years.

1. Ville Platte
2. Opelousas
3. New Iberia
4. Kaplan
5. Pine Prairie
6. Rayne
7. Crowley
8. etc

It burned down and got rebuilt a few years ago. Much nicer setup now with a ton of TVs and a large projector screen.

I did go there a couple of times to watch ufc fights. Although, it is the exception, the stereotypes were out in full force those nights. the place was so crowded. It felt like a massive fight would break out any second (but never did)
