1). There was absolutely no planning put into this city, zoning, layout, you name it, and nobody cares to fix it Instead, they think of it as normal. It is not, I repeat, not normal

2). Baton Rouge has some of the most insane, lazy, stunt driving, aimlessly bumping through life human beings on the planet, and they cannot drive for shite. Clearly heads and Tails The absolute worst drivers I have ever encountered in the continental United States of America.

That is all… Like or dislike, matters not. Them is the facts

Initially, planning and layout are usually studied. The results usually restrict the investors and developers plans too much so they pay off the powers to allow the development regardless of the effect on the overall system.

Doesn't matter how true this is. BR is 20 years behind the times when it comes to traffic flow. That is inexcusable.

Your doing it wrong! just get on the exit for the loop around BR. That should help your traffic issues.

Actually, traffic impact studies are not required in BR (or possibly in the state, I'm not sure).

While traffic & drivers suck in BR, its not JUST in Baton Rouge. Someone mentioned Houston, based off of my experiences from driving in Houston, I would take BR traffic any day over Houston's. Never drove in it, but have been in L.A. traffic once and it was not pretty..

I don't think our engineers know what a loop is. Looks like they are learning about traffic circles though.

There was planning at first... See downtown. Gridded streets, one ways, etc.

It all got fricked when:

1. they built the interstate
2. white flight started
3. the planning and zoning commissions just took whatever bribes random developers offered and didn't care about anything else.

Now it's too late to do anything. Too many NIMBY's mixed with urban activists and rural sprawl. But every politician from now till people no longer use cars are going to tell you it can be fixed, that they'll be the ones to fix it, and the state will give millions to legislator brother-in-law owned "study" companies, etc etc.

Do what I did. Buy a house close to where you work. Problem mostly solved.. for me anyway.

If this is true goodnight sweet Burbank. Those 5-6 new apartment complexes going up in the duration of 24 months without road improvements done beforehand is inexcusable.

Traffic is so bad you can create a thread while sitting in it.

Given you inclination for performing fellatio, I'm not sure how you found the time to type that.
