Does the humming go away if you change the setting to defrost only or to floor only?

If you'd gotten the Platinum you wouldn't be having this problem.

From what you described, ignore every post except for what Jimbeaux said and leave the compressor alone.

So it's probably not something in the duct work or the blend door. Most likely the noise is coming from blower. You can access it by removing the glove box and taking the cover off the blower.

Or turn up the radio

You misread what he said. He said 'Yes it does..go away when you move to defrost'. So then it is very possible it's something in the duct work that came lose or was sucked up in there somehow.

I'm sorry. It still comes on when blowing on floor and also defrost.

Sorry for not being clear.

Leaves and other debris can sometimes get in from the fresh air intake. Also, the foamy insulation and tape in the blower housing can come loose as it ages.

I'm convinced that auto makers choose certain annoyance parts to fail early for this very reason. No one thinks they "got a bad truck" because the a/c started making noise, but many still start looking for a new vehicle when their existing car/truck no longer seems new and problem free.

Ha so I misread then.

It could be the blower. Blower is usually behind the glove compartment. The blower has a bunch of little fan blades could of got something in those or one loose.

Hard to frick this up. To take a look at the blower. Open the glove box. The box has two stops at the back corners. Push them inward to clear the sides and the glove box will flop all the way down.
