Trooper pulled me over for "speeding"

I got cruise control for 74 mph and trooper pulls me over for 96 mph. Limit was 70 mph in Georgia. I'm doing 71 mph now... Paranoid as shite. I thought I was going to jail for "super speed," but he gave me a warning. Has this happen to anyone before?"

Ask him to show you the radar reading. They are required to save it for court. If he hesistates you are good.

Were there any other cars around you? I got popped a couple of years ago for 64 in a 45. I will admit I was probably between 50 and 55, but there were other cars in front of me in a pack and I was a single car, and I think he got the readout on another car and just decided to come after me because I was a single car.

Were you going over the Speed Limit? Does the word limit mean anything to you? if limit is 70 and you set cruise control on 74, well that says it all of your intention.

I had pretty much exactly the same thing happen to me in Georgia. My cruise control was set on 76, but the trooper said he clocked me at 93. I was polite, and asked him if there was any way his radar gun was messed up, because both the speedometer and my GPS had me at 76.
He told me that there was nothing wrong with the radar gun, but let me go with a warning.

Saying you were going 96 was trying to make you sweat some more. Probably some drug interdiction BS. No way you get off with a warning for going that fast for a normal stop.

No and I didn't ask if I was being detained either lol. But there were other cars around me. Concerning about the radar question.. I didn't know what to ask or know what my rights are. I normally don't get pulled over or speed at all. I just told him I cruised 74 mph and I swear I never go above 75 mph.

99% of police won't pull you over for single digits, but within the law they can. My issue is with the imbicile OP quoting he was pulled over for "speeding", when he in fact was speeding. If you are going 71 in a 70 you are speeding.

I read the OT on my phone, and I usually have it set so I don't see the name of the posters, only the posts, unless I scroll over.
