Jorts were intended to be shorts made of denim. Jeans material plus shorts = jorts. Jorts MUST have hems.
Cut off jeans are daisy dukes or cutoffs. They are NOT jorts.
Based on the above, it should be clear that cut off jorts do not exist.

You can't cut off your jeans if you want and wear them as jean shorts. They won't be jorts though. You may not like the rules but you must live by them.
