I did read the thread and the OP stated that was where he wanted to go. He also like to surf which means Pacific side.
He appears to want to go somewhere warm with sun. Alaska is awesome but isn't exactly that.

Well after learning that August is shitty for the Caribbean + general lack of surf, I'm leaning more towards Nica. Osa is also an option, Salmon. I've never been there, but if it's not as crowded/expensive as Pavones I'm interested.
