I have.....great city to visit...did all the touristy stuff: royal palace, Prada....great nightlife and Spanish people are very friendly.

If you have time, would suggest a trip to Toledo which is about an hour away...is definetely worth it.

Everybody there is dirt poor.

Food is pretty good. You'll be ready to leave in 5 days.

I spent the night there coming back from EG. I did not get to see much of it but I do remember they eat dinner very late there so keep this in mind when planning dinner. We sat down about 8:00pm on a Friday night thinking we were eating late. As we are leaving the restaurant about 10:00pm families were walking in to start their meal.

It is true what they say about the Spanish starting late....would go to dinner around 8:00 and it would be deserted.....people start filing in around 9:00 - 10:00

Agreed.

It's always good when you travel to Europe to get outside of the the most major cities, even if just a little bit. The real identity/heritage of a country is better observed there.

Really? Barcelona is a good long ways away in Catalonia, a different part of the country....the train ride is a couple of hours if I recall.....You really need more than a day in Barcelona....you will love it
